In this short but powerful Bible study, we talk about the "sinful" woman who poured perfume from her alabaster box onto Jesus' feet. He forgave her sins. (Luke 7:36-50)
The song Alabaster Box by Cece Winans is so beautiful. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0QG3rhbIO4
We also mentioned the power drain that occurred when the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Jesus' garment. (Matthew 9:20-22, Mark 5:25-34, Luke 8:43-48)

The meaning of MIRACLE is an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. These things still happen today. We use science to explain the miraculous. We read about an axhead floating in 2 Kings 6:3-7, now explained as "maybe it was a myth and didn't really happen." We read about disobedient people being swallowed up by the ground (Numbers 16:3-35), which would be considered an earthquake in modern times. The parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:10-28) would be considered a tsunami. The sun stood still in Joshua 10:12-14, which scientists now say was a total solar eclipse. There are many other modern day miracles. We discuss several of them in this study.

Have you ever experienced the supernatural? In this study we read about the miraculous events surrounding Elisha. First, an axhead floats in 2 Kings 6:1-7.Then a favorite scripture - when God opens the eyes of Elisha's servant, and he sees that "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." (2 Kings 6:17)The original Jedi mind trick happens in verse 19.
Scripture:2 Kings 6:1-23

How do you respond when someone calls you on your stuff...when it's true? What about when they accuse you of something that's not true? Tonight, we're discussing that and reading several scriptures that reference it.

Do you let just anybody get in your ear? You gotta be careful about that!
Here are some Biblical examples of letting the wrong people get in your ear:~ Genesis 3:1-5 - "Did God really say?"~ Esther 5:14, 6:12-14 - Haman's lame friends~ Matthew 16:21-23 - Peter to Jesus
Plus, Jezebel (who ran her husband, the king), David's wife Michael (who tried to get in his ear about dancing before the Lord), Job's friends ("curse God and die"), and of course, Delilah!
And then we don't listen to the voice we need to be listening to! God's!~ Exodus 3:9-14 - God has to get loud with Moses to get him to go to Pharaoh!
Personally, I've had some wrong people try to get in my ear - like bullies, cruel teachers and bad bosses. I've also had well-meaning friends, loved ones, and romantic interests try to get in my ear with the wrong stuff!
Here are some scriptures to encourage you:~ Romans 10:17 - Faith comes by hearing~ Galatians 5:7-8 - You were running a good race~ Matthew 12:34 - Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks

It's better not to give your word than to give your word and break it. The Bible warns us over and over again not to make a vow we can't keep.It also tells us that faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26). We need to DO something to show our fruit, not just talk about it, not even just pray about it!
Scriptures:Don't swear, just let your yes be yes or no, no! (Matthew 5:33-37, James 5:12, Deuteronomy 23:21-23)Don't make vows, but if you do, you better keep it! (Numbers 30:2, Ecclesiastes 5:5)Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. What kind of fruit is bubbling out of your heart and coming out of your mouth? (Matthew 12:33-37)Write the vision and make it plain. Then RUN with it! (Habakkuk 2:2)

The story of Jacob, Rachel and Leah is about as complicated as they come! Jacob worked for his uncle Laban for 7 years so that he could marry Rachel (his cousin!). But on the wedding day, Laban pulled an okeydoke and swapped the older sister with the weak eyes (Leah) in instead of Rachel. Jacob didn't realize until he woke up with her the next morning. (Huh?!!)
Scriptures:
Genesis 29:1-35, 30:1-24
